BrushIT Support
Most things are answered below. Anything that isn't, email me and I'll reply.
A person reads it. Please say which iPhone and which iOS version if something isn't working.
The Lock Screen card hasn't appeared
This is the most common one, and it is nearly always one of four things.
Live Activities are switched off
Check iOS Settings → BrushIT → Live Activities. If this is off, no card can appear. It also has to be on system-wide, under iOS Settings → Face ID & Passcode → Live Activities for the Lock Screen.
The window isn't actually open
The card only shows between a window's opening and closing times. Today's windows are on the Today screen, and you can change them in Settings → Brushing windows.
The app hasn't been opened for a while
iOS only lets an app queue a few cards ahead. BrushIT queues roughly the next two days, then tops that up whenever the app runs or iOS grants it a moment in the background. Opening the app once a week is plenty; leaving it closed for a fortnight will eventually run the queue dry.
The phone was restarted and not unlocked
Scheduled cards resume after the first unlock following a restart.
Streaks
A day counts once both brushes are logged. Miss a day and the streak would normally end — but with BrushIT Complete, one missed day per calendar month is covered automatically by a streak shield, so a single bad night doesn't wipe out weeks of effort. The shield is applied when the app next runs.
Brushes logged from the Lock Screen, from a reminder, or by finishing the guided timer all count the same.
The guided timer
Two minutes, split into four thirty-second quadrants with a nudge to move on. Running it all the way to the end earns bonus XP. Skipping ahead is allowed and still logs the brush — it just doesn't earn the bonus, and skipping once means the bonus is off for that whole session.
Parent lock
Settings has an optional parent lock: a four-digit PIN you set, which is then required before erasing history, resetting the day, changing the brushing windows, undoing a logged brush or switching reminders off.
It is a PIN rather than Face ID on purpose. The app lives on your child's phone, so Face ID would be your child's face and the fallback passcode would be your child's passcode — the lock would be asking the one person it exists to stop.
I've forgotten the PIN
Use the recovery code you were shown when you set it. On the PIN screen, tap Forgot your PIN? and type the code — that switches the parent lock off so you can set a new one. If you no longer have the code, the only way to clear it is to delete and reinstall the app, which also erases the brushing history.
Too many wrong tries
Repeated wrong entries lock the keypad for a while — a minute at first, longer after that. Wait it out; nothing is lost.
BrushIT Complete
A single one-off purchase. There is no subscription and there never will be.
It adds streak shields, all fourteen themes, the full history with the month view and trend, the badge collection, toothbrush tracking and its reminders, named holiday periods, the weekly summary, and data export.
I bought it but it isn't unlocked
Open Settings → Help and privacy → BrushIT Complete and tap Restore purchase. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account that made the purchase.
Does one purchase cover the whole family?
Yes. BrushIT Complete is enabled for Family Sharing, so one purchase covers everyone in your family group on every device they own.
Refunds
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by me. Use reportaproblem.apple.com. If something didn't work as described, email me too — I'd rather fix it.
Moving to a new iPhone
Your history is part of your normal iPhone backup, so restoring a backup to a new phone brings it with you. If you'd rather move it by hand, use Settings → Help and privacy → Export my data on the old phone and Import a backup on the new one.
The parent PIN deliberately does not travel between devices. If you restore onto a new iPhone, the parent lock will be off and you can set a fresh PIN.
Reminders aren't arriving
Check iOS Settings → BrushIT → Notifications is allowed. BrushIT sends its reminders as Time Sensitive so they break through Focus and Downtime — if that is switched off for the app, a Focus mode will hold them back.
Deleting everything
Deleting the app removes every brush, streak and badge from the device. Inside the app, Settings → Data → Erase all history does the same without uninstalling, and Reset today clears just today.
